    World Mental Health Week concludes at CUSB

    GAYA(Bihar): The World Mental Health Awareness Week organized by the Department of Psychology of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) in collaboration with the Center for Student Counselling and Wellness, successfully concluded on Thursday (October 13). Public Relation Officer (PRO) Md. Mudassir Alam informed that under the mentorship of Vice- Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, the awareness week was organised on the WHO current year theme “Make Mental Health and Well-Being for all a Global Priority”. 


    Several programs were organized under the awareness week from October 10 to October 13, 2022. The convener of the program was Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Singh, the coordinator was Dr. Das Ambika Bharti, and the co-coordinators were Dr. Mangalesh Kumar Mangalam, Dr. Chetna Jaiswal and Dr. Pragya Gupta.

     

    World Mental Health Week concludes at CUSB

    As the chief guest in the closing ceremony of the weekly program, VC Prof. K. N. Singh said that the Department of Psychology has always been working for the benefit of the society. He said that the aim of education is to be useful for the benefit of the society and the country. The students and general public should try to keep good mental health along with physical health of themselves and others.

     

    Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Singh (Head of the Department) in the welcome address said that there is also a counseling center in the department which aims at providing emotional support and career counseling to the students. Program coordinator Dr. Das Ambika Bharti said that the curtain raiser and flash mob dance program on inaugural day (October 10) was followed by programs and competitions related to mental health. The next day on 11th October, a tree plantation campaign and poster making competition were organized. On 12th October, Speech Competition and Workshop was organized in which the theme of the lecture was “Life Skills for Emotional Well-being”.

     

    On the final day, a mime play was presented by the students of the psychology department with the aim of emphasizing on mental health. The winners of various competitions organized under the Awareness Week were given certificates of appreciation by the VC Prof. K. N. Singh. In the poster making competition, first-Soumya Raina, second-Sujata Saloni and Rupali Behera, and third- Rachna Tripathi. In the speech competition, first- Astha Anu, second- Priyanshu Kumar Tripathi and third- Nirosha Fernandes. The valedictory session was concluded with the vote of thanks to the coordinator of the program Dr. Das Ambika Bharti.
