    Two-weeks Faculty Development Programme on Latest Research inaugurated at CUSB

    GAYA(Bihar): A two- weeks long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the “Latest Perspectives of Research in Behavioural Sciences (Interdisciplinary)” organized by the Department of Teacher Education (DTE), Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) inaugurated on Monday (November 21, 2022). 


    CUSB Public Relation Officer (PRO) Md. Mudassir Alam said that the programme has been organised under the PMMMNMTT Scheme of Ministry of Education, Govt. of India from 21st November to 1st December 2022 through online mode. A total of 114 faculty members from various universities and colleges across 20 Indian states participated in this faculty development programme.

     
    At the onset of the programme, Prof. Kaushal Kishore, Head & Dean, DTE formally welcomed the guests and the participants. After that Dr Tapan Kumar Basantia, the Programme Coordinator and Nodal Officer of the PMMMNMTT scheme briefed the session about the scheme and the Programme. Prof. Rekha Agrawal shared her experiences about the various aspects of the scheme. Thenceforth, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, the co-coordinator of the programme shared the details of the participants. 

     

    Chief Guest, Prof. Harikesh Singh, Former Vice Chancellor, Jai Prakash University, Chapra, in his inaugural address said that holistic knowledge can be created by cutting the boundaries between various disciplines. He emphasized on the importance of quality in research and asserted that every research must add even an iota of knowledge to the existing body of knowledge.

     

    Further CUSB VC Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, left the audience and participants mesmerized with his words of wisdom in the presidential address. He stated that research needs passion, perseverance, and honesty.  The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Mitanjali Sahoo, Co-coordinator of the programme.

     

    Prof Sau Hau Chang, School of Education, Indiana University Southeast, USA, a full bright fellow of Central University of South Bihar under PMMMNMTT scheme was a special invitee of the programme. Dr Swati Gupta, Asst. Prof., DTE compared the session.

     

    In the second session. Dr Tapan Kumar Basantia succinctly explained the fundamentals of research, the concept of research as a process, uses of the scientific method in generating knowledge and key terminologies associated with different types of research. In the third session Prof. Kaushal Kishore as the resource person spoke about the context and techniques of using statistics in behavioural research.

     

    In the fourth and last session of the day, the co-coordinators of the programme- Dr Mitanjali Sahoo and Dr Sandeep Kumar oriented the participants regarding the different activities to be conducted during the programme. They also discussed how to write research paper, conceptual paper, review paper, theoretical paper, research proposal.

     

    During the whole programme Dr. Ravi Kant, Dr. Rinki, Dr. Tarun Kumar Tyagi, Dr Chandra Prabha Pandey, Dr Ravindra Kumar, Dr Pragya Gupta, Dr Kishor Kumar, Dr. Mozammil Hassan, Dr Samresh Bharty, and Dr Nrapendra Vir Singh of department of Teacher Education were present throughout the programme.
