    GAYA(Bihar): Dussehra festival is going on with great pomp across the district and its surrounding areas. 

    Lord Rama killed Ravana with a single arrow at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Gaya.  As soon as Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnad were killed, the effigies of their symbolic form got burnt. Sparks of fire were burning all over the ground.

    The 50 feet high effigy of Ravana was burnt to ashes in 20 seconds.  At 5:57 pm, fireworks exploded as soon as the effigy was set on fire.  As the victory of good over evil, the holy festival of Dussehra ended with Ravana Dahan. 

    During the slaughter of Ravana, the entire Gandhi Maidan was seen transformed into a police cantonment.  The noise started getting louder as soon as the effigy was set on fire.  The spectators thoroughly enjoyed the effigy burning fireworks.

    There was a crowd of people on the roofs of the nearby houses to see the effigy burning.  Thousands of people present enjoyed it.  The entire Gandhi Maidan was full of women, men and children.  

    Even before the start of the Ravana programme, people gathered and gathered.  Before the slaughter of Ravana, a traditional huge procession was taken out from Azad Park in the city with full gusto.  The procession passed through major roads of the city and reached Gandhi Maidan. Tight security arrangements were made in Gandhi Maidan regarding the slaughter of Ravana and the people present there were hailing "Jai Sri Ram".


    On this occasion Magadh Divisional Commissioner Mayank Varavade, District Magistrate Dr. Thiagarajan SM, Senior Superintendent of Police Harpreet Kaur, Chairman of Bihar Heritage Development Committee Dr. Prem Kumar, Deputy Mayor Mohan Srivastava Shri Dussehra Committee Chairman Ajay Kumar Tarve, Patron Ramji Prasad Advocate, Convener Sanjay  Kumar Seth, General Secretary Shirish Prakash, Organization Minister Deepak Charcha, Ranjit Berhampuria, Shiv Kailash Dalmiya, Manish Agarwal, Sanjay Bhardwaj, Sandeep Puri, Neeraj Kumar Gupta, Sanjay Agarwal, Rajkumar, Pooja Bhadani, Sonal Bhadani, Poonam Bhadani, Sanjay Pal, Rahul Navodaya  Many people including Ankit Kumar were present.
