Gaya police and CRPF arrest 2 hardcore naxalites with collective reward of Rs 10 lakh for them

GAYA(Bihar): The joint team of Gaya police and 29 battalion of CRPF in Gaya on Saturday arrested two Naxalites for whom the Jharkhand state government had announced a collective reward of Rs 10 lakh, while Bihar state government announced 50 thousand on his head, said SSP Harpreet Kaur in press conference at her office chamber here on Saturday.
Police also recovered A.K.-56 rifle, 97 cartridges, 5 detonators, 5 sim cards, one mobile, one levi book and one bag from them, added SSP Kaur.
The two arrested were identified as Abhijit Yadav alias Banwari alias Mahavir Yadav and one other his shooter Kundan Yadav were arrested during an anti- Naxal operation by the 29 th battalion of CRPF and Gaya police personnel in the Dangai forest area, said SSP Harpreet Kaur.
The Jharkhand state had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh and Bihar state government announced Rs 50,000 for Abhijit Yadav alias Banwari alias Mahavir Yadav.
Abhijt Yadav a harcore naxali was involved in a total of 61 offences, which included in landmines blast in Aurangabad in the year 2016 in which 7 police personnel were died in the blast.
Meanwhile, Abhijit Yadav alias Banwari alias Mahavir Yadav was involved in several murder cases and encounters. Among the two arrested, Abhijit has the highest number of criminal records in Jharkhand and Bihar, among others.
In fact, since the year 2009, he was associated with the Naxalite organization and before 22 November, Abhijit was working as the sub-zonal commander, whereas on 22 November 2022, he was made the zonal commander it self.
However 61 Naxalite cases have been registered against him in Gaya, Aurangabad and Palamu. It is registered that the police had been on the lookout for a naxalite named Abhijit Yadav alias Vanwari alias Mahavir Yadav, a resident of Tilaya, Chhatarpur district Palamu, for a long time. Along with this, his associate and shooter Kundan Yadav, who is a resident of Duyari under Palamu district. said SSP.
The police had also put its intelligence system on active mode for the arrest of Abhijit Yadav alias Banwari alias Mahavir Yadav. Meanwhile, the police got information that Abhijeet along with one of his shooter was hiding in Dungi forest area.
After which the joint team of Gaya police and 29th CRPF battalion Commandant of H.K.Gaupta, who was leading the team alongwith Deputy Commandant, Amod Kumar, Assistant Commandant, Ramveer Kumar, Assistant Commandant Ravi Kumar raided the place and arrested him along with his associate Kundan Yadav.
