    Former President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated "Tripitaka puja" under the Bodhi tree

    GAYA(Bihar): Friday was a special day for Bihar's Gaya district, as former President Ram Nath Kovind arrived at Bodh Gaya, the holy land of Lord Buddha, and inaugurated the Tripitaka Puja under the Bodhi tree.

     

    Here, the former President reached Gaya Airport at 12:30. After this, he reached Bodhgaya by road at half past one in the afternoon. Tight security and elaborate arrangements were made by the police administration regarding his arrival.


    Later in the afternoon, the former President visited Lord Buddha temple at Mahabodhi and also inaugurated the ten-day Tripitaka Chatink Festival under the sacred Bodhi tree with senior Buddhist monks.


    In the same sequence, he also addressed thousands of devotees from the country and abroad and the former President will return late on Friday evening itself. 

     
    The participation of the former President in the Tripitaka Chatting Ceremony saw tremendous enthusiasm among the Buddhist monks, although Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan was also to attend the Tripitaka Chatting Puja ceremony from Friday afternoon in Bodh Gaya along with the former President, but his  The trip was postponed.


    While Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman performed Pinddaan of her ancestors in Mokshadayini Falgu river.  


    After that he bowed down at the feet of Lord Vishnu in the sanctum sanctorum of the Vishnupad temple.  In the morning, along with my family members, and they have done "Pinddaan and Tarpan" at Devghat for the peace of the souls of my ancestors.
