    2 train passengers held with 266.61grms gold ornaments in Gaya railway station

    GAYA(Bihar): The RPF on Tuesday arrested two persons and seized 266.61 grms gold ornaments worth around Rs 12,50,754 from them at Gaya Railway Station, said Zaved Iqbal RPF sub Inspector. 
    Though seizure was made on Tuesday evening, the duo was placed under custody on Tuesday. “While carrying out checking in the Hawarh- Badmer Express at Gaya station, the police found two small pittu containing gold ornaments weighing 266.61 gm in the baggage of two passengers,” a senior RPF official said.
    The gold ornaments were worth around Rs 12, 50 754 , he said. During questioning, the two passengers identified themselves as Rajkumar Verma and Banti Kumar, both from Vishnupad in Gaya, and said they were travelling from Hawarh to Gaya , the official said.
    However, they did not have valid documents to support purchase of the gold ornaments and hence they were seized, the official said. 
    “After questioning, the two persons were taken under custody. It seems they were transporting the gold ornaments to jewellery shops in Gaya. Further investigations are on," he said.
    According to RPF, Gaya office records, Rs 11,90,000.00/- (Eleven Lakh Ninety Thousand) was recovered from the possession of above person Rajkumar Verma on 01.06.2022 at Gaya Railway Station which was handed over to Additional Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Gaya for further action.
